Have you ever heard of the term "Equity & Justice"?
In recent years in Europe and the United States, the approach of including Equity & Justice in Diversity & Inclusion has been used in employment, human resource development, and work environments as we deal with the issue of structural inequality among minorities on a daily basis. Inclusion (DE&I) and Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JUDI).
If we look at Japan, we can see many pioneering practices that do not use the concept of Equity & Justice. However, in the art industry, the distortions caused by the asymmetry between teacher and student, performer and audience, poor financial support, and black working environment have led to harassment, exploitation, exhaustion, and gender gaps that have been frequently pointed out.
One of the features of this program is to develop expertise in social work methods and ways of thinking, with an eye to solving and overcoming serious social issues through the medium of art. In particular, the course on AOP (Anti Oppressive Practice), which we are proud to say is a pioneering approach in arts management education in Japan today, will help students acquire the mindset to clean up injustice from the industry in which they work.
